SandyDuck '97 Nearshore Experiment: Image Directory This directory contains all of the digital images taken by the Field Research Facility (FRF) of the US Army Corps of Engineers during the SandyDuck Nearshore Field Experiment. Most of these images were taken by Rebecca Beavers. The images are medium quality jpg images with pixel resolution of 1280w x 960h. They can easily be used to create full page overheads. Except for several special directories, most of the images are arranged in directories based on the week they were taken. The special directories are named by organization or topic and include related images. The "TrailerPosters" directory contains the images used on the walls in the SandyDuck meeting trailer. The "Instruments" directory has closeups of some of the SandyDuck instruments. While there's no guide to the images, each image is nicely named as to who's in the picture (by first name) and what the image shows (thanks Rebecca!). Images found in the slide shows on the web in the "SandyDuck Gallery" can be found in the directory for the same date as the slide show. Note that the web images have less resolution and are more compressed than the images in the ftp directory. The SandyDuck web site can be found through the FRF's home page at: http://www.frf.usace.army.mil and click on "Projects" or "SandyDuck" There are just over 1000 images in the directory occupying ~240 megs of disk space. If you use any of these images, please credit the US Army Corps of Engineers. Questions? Contact Bill Birkemeier at w.birkemeier@cerc.wes.army.mil
